Trill

Koreans are considered the Irish of Asia because of their love of alcohol. The drink of choice is soju, which is like a weaker version of vodka. This Friday was my basketball team's opening banquet, and like every weekend, there were also friends either going to or coming back from the army. This all added up to me drinking a whole lot.

I was doing well up to a certain moment. I was pacing myself, and making sure to eat a lot. You see Koreans are way smarter about their alcohol than most. They never drink without food, kind of like tapas style. It creates a very social atmosphere, and a good way to balance out your alcohol intake (while also drinking more). Anyway, I was eating a lot and pacing myself, until I was handed a full glass (like 16 fluid ounces) of soju and told, "one shot." I'm not a great drinker, so before I took it all down I should have known what my body could handle. Stupid stupid stupid.

This was literally 30 seconds before I went south. I'm pretty sure I was trying to explain to this girl that in America the wink is like Asia's peace sign. Well, 5 minutes later I was out on the street clutching a wall.Same story for the guy in the middle. Actually, imagine him falling face first onto the street, because that's what he did. On Sunday he would show up to basketball with bruises and scabs all over his face. He also lost his glasses somewhere. It was sad really... we realized we were wearing the same pair that night.
I don't know how this picture got onto my camera, but it pretty much sums up the last 2 hours of my night.
