Just saying

About 2 weeks ago, my friend Hae Sung told me that before he left for Philadelphia, the group of guys would go drinking and stay out all night. It went into my google calendar as "drink+die", and I informed my cousin that I would be a mess the day after. Being the sweetheart that she is, my cousin made this crab hangover stew. Luckily I didn't over do it, and when I came home at 7 AM I was sober enough to make some calls and floss my teeth. That's a first! Anyway, the stew was really amazing, but I think with the meat still being in the shell, it's a little too cumbersome for the average person to handle with a hangover. Initially when you begin eating this dish, you pour some soup and scoop some rice into the split open bodies. After you mix the components together and let the flavors integrate, it looks almost like a crab curry. Really delicious.

Speaking of food, I also happened to eat some whale recently. Hunting whales is illegal in Korea, but if "caught" in nets meant for other fish, they're fair game to sell. So it's pretty expensive. I didn't take any pictures because really, it looked like smoke meat. Besides being really oily and not chewy, the whale's body is so huge that when served, several different areas of the body are given and they all taste very different. It was pretty interesting to guess what part of the body I was eating, and try them in different combinations. I'll tell you, blow hole isn't that bad....
